Cutting edge research has produced a new class of electrical materials called amorphous alloys.  These alloys, which are also known as metallic glass alloys, are the building blocks of modern, high-performance electrical machinery.  These materials practically eliminate hysteresis losses in electric generators and allow for smaller coil designs.

Amorphous alloys are produced by rapid solidification which results in ultra thin strips, which provide the end-user with superb magnetic properties.  Cores manufactured using amorphous alloy strips can be over twice as efficient as today's foremost silicon steel cores.

Cyriac can offer various Fe-based, Co-based and Ni-based alloys.

Alloy CY-02-2805

This is an amorphous soft magnetic alloy in a ferrum base. Applications include transformers in switched-mode power supplies, magnetic switches for pulse current power supplies, toroidal magnetic circuits, impulse and high frequency transformers. It can be used instead of ferrites and permalloys.

  • CY-02-2805 offers small losses on reversal of magnetization at high frequencies and high resistance.
  • Strip wound cores can be produced with a rectangular or flat hysteresis loop
  • CY-02-2805 is available in strips of 3 to 40 mm width
  • Possible thickness includes 0.025 mm and 0.035 mm

Alloy CY-84-2705

This is an amorphous soft magnetic alloy in cobalt base with very low saturation magnetostriction. Applications include transformers in switched-mode power supplies, magnetic switches for pulse current power supplies, production of induction elements, precision and high-frequency transformers and magnetic keys.

  • Strip wound cores can be produced with a rectangular or flat hysteresis loop
  • CY-84-2705 is available in strips of 3 to 40 mm width
  • Possible thickness includes 0.025 mm and 0.035 mm

Alloy CY-82-2705

Alloy CY-82-2705 is an amorphous soft magnetic alloy in a cobalt base with very low saturation magnetostriction. Applications include transformers in switched-mode power supplies, magnetic switches for pulse current power supplies, current transformers and motors.

  • CY-82-2705 offers very high initial magnetic permeability in small fields, slight coercive force and low losses on the reversal of magnetization.
  • CY-82-2705 is available in strips of 3 to 40 mm width
  • Possible thickness includes 0.025 mm and 0.035 mm

Alloy CY-30-2705

CY-30-2705 is an amorphous soft magnetic alloy in a cobalt-ferrum base. Applications include transformers in switched-mode power supplies, magnetic switches for pulse current power supplies, toroidal magnetic circuits of filter chokes, and impulse and high-frequency transformers

  •  CY-30-2705 offers excellent linearity of the hysteresis loop under small losses on the reversal of magnetization at high frequencies and high resistance
  • CY-30-2705 is available in strips of 3 to 40 mm width
  • Possible thickness includes 0.025 mm and 0.035 mm
